Syncretist Peace Council meets in Rome

The L'Osservatore Romano issue dated August 18, 2026 (pp. 4-5) featured a meeting of the Peace Council, a five-day-encounter that took place at the end of May in the Camaldolese Monastery of St. Gregory on the Caelian Hill, close to the Coliseum.

The initiative, led by Camaldolese Fr. Cyprian Consiglio, above first at the right seated on the floor; was supported by Monastic Interreligious Dialogue, part of the Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue headed by Card. Jacob Koovakad, who received all of the participants at the Vatican after the event.

During those days representatives of Christian, Hebrew, Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu, Taoist and Indigenous religions' gathered together. They alternated conversations about their faiths with times of silence. In the photo above, we see a small table with symbols of all those religions, although a Cross is not apparent.

Three sentences Fr. Consiglio spoke to L'Osservatore Romano give us the tone of the meeting:

- "The most beautiful thing for me was to see the love, the dedication that they have for their tradition, the enthusiasm for their tradition, for their scriptures."

- "For me it is matter, first of all, of friendship, added to mutual comprehension, true knowledge of the essence of the religion of the other, instead of affirming the truth."

- "The method experienced at St. Gregory already indicates a possible direction: to not hide the differences but to allow persons deeply linked to their own faiths to be able to gather together, listen to one another and become friends."

It is a good example of what Progressivism is planning to present as the One World Religion or Panrelgion. A syncretist hodge-podge of liturgical symbols diluted in a syrupy atmosphere of love and friendship with a de facto disregard for the Truth.

Last row, Fr. Consiglio dressed as a Hindu monk starts a retreat at Shantivanam Monastery in India, where the Benedictine/Camaldolese liturgy includes Hindu Sannyassa practices. Fr. Consiglio is a proud follower of Fr. Bede Griffiths, who popularized such religious syncretism between 1968 and 1993.
