Leo XIV follows the clownish style
Above, you see Pope Leo XIV wearing a fulani hat as he poses with a delegation of Burkina Faso, present in the general audience on August 6, 2025, at St. Peter's Square. The fulani hats are typical of Burkina Faso's culture, see first row below.Third row, he is seen donning a Cubs baseball cap of his favorite team in Chicago on June 11, also at St. Peter's Square.
In the fourth row he appears with a Villanova cap of the National Italian American Foundation in a private audience on June 5 - video here.
There were expectations that Pope Leo XIV would send a message of seriousness and respectability proper to the gravity of the papal office and the Catholic doctrine, so needed for the faithful living today in the contemporary vulgarity and chaos.
Unfortunately this is not the case. He is clearly walking in the footsteps of Francis and the other Conciliar Popes, who adopted a casual style, in which the lack of dignity and sacrality set them not far from a clownish type of behavior.
