Cowboy Pope, Charlie Kirk & Gaza Annexation
Papal Cowboy Hat
Dear TIA,
Here is another Pope/hat picture.
What I can’t understand is how people don’t see how foolish this looks. The King of the Church, the highest of all the Prelates, grinning in an Australian cowboy hat! He looks downright silly. The dignity of office goes out the window.
The newlywed couple from Sydney also invited him to “drop by” if he’s ever in Australia. Such an egalitarian and casual invite and attitude, again, so very different from the past.
For me it is past sad, it is sickening.

Sydney couple raises the roof with Pope Leo hat trick

SYDNEY (OSV News) — Sydney newlyweds James Lu and Fiona Choi ticked off some unusual items on their Europe vacation list: wedding clothes and shoes along with an Akubra hat and Pope Leo XIV’s estimated head size.
Then they flew to Italy and presented the pontiff with the iconic Australian hat while in Rome for their August vacation. Akubra is thought to derive from an Aboriginal word for head covering.
The couple joined an audience with the pope dressed in their wedding day attire as “sposi novelli” — the newlyweds, and delighted everyone present when they gave him the Aussie staple.
“It was surreal, we weren’t sure if he was going to accept the gift,” Lu told The Catholic Weekly, the news outlet of the Archdiocese of Sydney.
He said it “can’t get more Australian” than the hat they chose, which was made of kangaroo leather and fur felt, with an opal embedded on the side of the hatband.
The couple had seen images of the pope receiving hats before, often baseball caps, and decided to take him an iconic hat all the way from Down Under.
Lu tried to figure out Pope Leo’s hat size by analyzing photos of him and ended up guessing a little bit too small. He now reckons it is probably 58.
“Being the good sport that he is, he put it on and the entire audience hall went up in uproarious applause and cheering,” Lu said.
The couple woke up very early in the morning on Aug. 14 to meet the pope and donned their full wedding outfits including their shoes.
“I think we were one of the few, if not the only, couple there that wore the exact same thing from top to tail,” Lu said.
“It felt nice, it was like getting married again.”
He said despite the pair being nervous about the meeting, Pope Leo made them “really feel at ease.”
“He was very gentle, he had a very kind demeanor,” Lu said.
“He has made it a point that he tries to greet as many people as possible and to give all the newlyweds there the time that he did.”

Charlie Kirk & Israel
Dear TIA,
While the country is still shocked by the brutal assassination of Charlie Kirk, new data are coming to surface showing that the head of Turning Point had been having difficulties with Israel and the Netanyahu.
The following video by Max Blumenthal exposes how Kirk was turning away from his previous position as an adamant Israel’s supporter to a bitter critic of what that government is doing in Gaza.

Inhumane Annexation of Gaza Continues
Dear TIA,
The inhumane killing of Palestinians by Jews continues. The very sad thing is that it would have ended in January if Trump had not supported Netanyahu in each one of his Nazi-like initiatives.
The newsletter I am sending to you is dated today, September 18, 2025.
How can we have sympathy for the Jews killed by the Nazis when they are doing the same with the Palestinians?
May God intervene and stop this cowardly indiscriminate killing of civilians.

Palestinian death toll in Gaza surpasses 65,000
Nathan Morley
In the past 24 hours alone, hospitals received 98 bodies and 385 wounded, including seven aid workers killed and 87 injured.
The number of Palestinians killed in the Gaza Strip since October 2023 has surpassed 65,000, according to Gaza-based health authorities.
Officials report that the death toll has reached 65,062, with 165,697 others injured since the start of the conflict.
In the past 24 hours alone, hospitals received 98 bodies and 385 wounded, including seven aid workers killed and 87 injured.
Meanwhile, Israeli tanks and military vehicles advanced into a major residential district of Gaza City, marking the second day of a ground offensive aimed at occupying the area.
Israel says the operation is intended to rescue hostages held by Hamas and defeat up to 3,000 fighters in what it calls the group’s “last stronghold.” The campaign has drawn widespread international condemnation.
More than 20 humanitarian organizations, including Save the Children and Oxfam, issued a joint statement calling the situation in Gaza “unconscionable.”
The Israel Defense Forces said Tuesday that approximately 350,000 people have fled Gaza City. The United Nations estimates 190,000 have been displaced since August, with at least 650,000 residents remaining in the city.

A while ago I was amazed by Our Lady of Good Success, but something happened and I sort of became indifferent and a little doubtful of this devotion (while still acknowledging a crisis in the Church). I've become fascinated in this devotion again but I am unsure if the prophecies are legitimate. The apparitions, Mother Mariana, yes. But the prophecies associated with this, doubt has entered my mind.
I know Fr. Manuel Pereira was a real 18-19th century priest, but my concern is that the book was written in the early 1900s, which would explain the accuracy of the 1800s predictions (The late 20th century prophecies are still astonishingly accurate either way, which makes me think it is authentic). I got this idea from the Catholicism Reddit where most commenters were downplaying the legitimacy of these prophecies.
So my question is what evidence is there that would dispel my doubts and prove that Fr. Pereira did in fact write that book La Vida Admirable... in 1790?
Thank you,
D.C.
TIA responds:
Hello D.C.,
Two of our writers, Dr. Marian Horvat and Miss Salwa Bachar, wrote articles answering doubters of the apparitions of Our Lady of Good Success to Madre Mariana de Jesus Torres (here and here). We can also advise you to read these article that specifically address the question of doubters, here and here.
We recommend you two read these articles, which most probably will answer your question.
In the case they do not, write us back and we will try to help you resolve the obstacles so that you might have an unobstructed devotion to Our Lady.
Cordially,
