When Greed Replaces Honor
Dear TIA,
Ave Maria!
How correct you were, in your Homage for the Fourth of July 2025, in your remark about money replacing honor!
Until reading this article today, which I hope you may share in Mailbag, I never fully grasped the horror of what happens routinely to reap obscene profits from “conflict zones”. In this story which documents the recruitment and lavish spending for the purpose of ending the lives of women, children and desperate families who come starving for meager handouts of food aid in Gaza, we follow the biggest investors.
Indeed, for some who read this, your pension funds may be involved! American private equity investment firms join hands with experienced intelligence officers and war savvy foot soldiers as the State Department ponies up an allocation of $millions monthly -- a horrid tale. The ‘gold that glitters’ has been drenched in blood was my response.
With a fuller realization of how repulsive and entrenched such machinations and greed have become to the great dishonor of our nation, recoiling at the same time, thinking of how many blacken their souls by making a comfortable livelihood within the military defense contracting network and how desperate our times are for conversion, let us fight for the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart with the confidence She desires of Her children, redoubling our prayers and sacrifices to the Holy Virgin from whom one sigh alone can wrought from God more than we can imagine!
And if I may add one more thing, thank you, TIA and Dr. Marian Horvat, for continuing to educate us in the treasures of the First Friday and First Saturday observance. And now the added magnificent speeches from your Event whose transcripts are being made available from which we learn so much to reinvigorate us in the counter-revolutionary battle!
Your grateful reader,
In this Month of the Precious Blood of Jesus,
In Maria,
E.Z., Ph.D.

Mandani & Red Jihad
Hello TIA,
I believe you should bring this video to your readers attention in order so they might realize how our country will be in serious danger if Mr. Mandani is elected mayor of New York City.
Best regards,
P.M.
Red Jihad comes to NYC in the person of Zohran Mamdani
Cliff Kincaid
June 28, 2025 - As we approach the 24th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on New York City, the threat of radical Islam has returned in a big way to America’s financial capital and largest city. A young Marxist Shia Muslim by the name of Zohran Kwame Mamdani has won the Democratic Party nomination for mayor of New York City.
We call this the “Red Jihad,” a combination of Marxism and radical Islam that threatens to ignite another 9/11 on American soil. Trevor Loudon and Cliff Kincaid discuss Zohran Mamdani and his Iranian and Communist connections, and the prospect of a nuclear “dirty bomb” being smuggled into the U.S. by Iranian agents.

Respecting Holy Images
TIA,
Re: Profaning Holy Images
Very good analysis. Apropos because I’m seeing some really ridiculous items and even Traditional Catholics (an indefinable term today) posting about their boots with saints printed on them. I was always taught that if you drop holy object (holy card, rosary etc.) after picking it up you should kiss it. Why? I don’t know. To show respect and acknowledge that it deserves better care and not to be dropped to the ground. Some may even see in it a sort of “reparation”. Either way, it would seem that that practice flies in the face of the socks, skateboards and (most ironically) floor mats.
I know you’ve addressed the propriety of such practices, but from another angle, the whole thing goes against the spirit of simplicity. I hope I don’t give any ideas to the marketing brainstormers wracking their brains to think of yet another item to sell, but the level of impropriety has gone so low that I would not doubt that some “holy things on the unholy” marketing genius has thought of selling playing cards with the King, Queen and Joker being Our Lord, Our Lady & St. Joseph. “That’s so cute. That’s so neat.” I can hear that from this generation.
From my grandmothers I could AT LEAST imagine a reproof of “That’s silly.” If not outright “That’s disrespectful!” BTW: Since these are things that are SOLD (printed things cheap from China and marked up incredibly for novelty addicted Americans) and folks earn MONEY from them, you’ve touched a very raw nerve and should expect tons of “apologetic” pushback. [No one can avoid your spot on analogy of the modern mistreatment of our nation’s flag. Get them to admit to that and you’re halfway to winning the argument.]
Quick question I didn’t want to add to my comment above as it was already long. Religious themed rings with the Our Father or Hail Mary laser printed on them, or a cross. These seem along the lines of lapel pins. I don’t see too much wrong with that. Clearing out excess luggage I just saw my personalized luggage tags. Just wanted your opinion.
Also holy image stamps on mail. Either rubber stamp images or printouts of holy images. That I’ve always felt “weird” doing since I know the box will be pitch in the trash eventually. I was accustomed to cutting out images in the Monastery Icons catalogs I’d get and laminating them with prayers on the back. That morphed into taping them onto packages being mailed. I’m sure you’ve seen Saint Anthony Guide envelope stickers with Saint Anthony’s image on it. It’s really good to have balanced opinions from people not afraid to go into the foray of debate.
Your analyses of these issues that some may think “trite” are actually very helpful. Not wearing what are basically undershirts is another topic you broach which some may see as unimportant but I notice that the days I wear a real button down shirt my wife tells me “the vez muy guapo” (you look very handsome) but the days I have on a (basically) undershirt, no such comment. I also FEEL different when better dressed as my forefathers and father-in-law always seemed to dress.

C,W.,
Thank you for your support.
Sending printed material with holy images in books, magazines or pamphlets is considered normal usage; also the use of mail stamps. Those who receive them, however, should take care not to trash them with vile waste. It is very advisable that the recipients of such printed material separate and shred them so that they become non-recognizable; then, they can be thrown away without any disrespect shown to them.
We are planning to offer soon our criticism of the use of t-shirts as normal attire. Meanwhile you may read some general guidelines on similar topics here, here and here
Cordially,

Well, no Latin Mass yet, but a new Mass on Caring for the Environment from Leo’s Vatican.
From another source I read that he will be saying this new Mass on July 9 at Castel Gandolfo.
G.G.
The Mass, along with other steps, show Pope Leo XIV and the Roman Catholic Church building on the environmental commitment of his predecessor, Francis.
The Vatican on Thursday released a new rite for Mass that can “be used to ask God for the ability to care for creation,” a Vatican official said, a sign of the church’s commitment to environmental protection, especially climate action.
The new Mass, titled “Mass for the Care of Creation,” is inspired, in part, by Pope Francis’ landmark 2015 encyclical on the environment, “Laudato Si’,” or “Praise Be To You.” It was approved by Pope Leo XIV, who appears determined to carry forward his predecessor’s engagement on the issue.
