Gates of Hell, Coronavirus & Boxing Popes

The Gates of Hell Will Not Prevail

Dear TIA,

Re: Lefebvre gave miters to two priests who covered for a homosexual predator

Thank you once again for an insightful and informative report on SSPX.

I have watched popular Catholic media sites. Such as, Michael Matt from The Remnant Newspaper, Dr. Taylor Marshall, and others, that appear to believe that Archbishop Lefebvre was a courageous and loyal Prelate of Holy Mother Church that truly started a Resistance against the Conciliar Church.

It appears that the SSPX may have inadvertently brought about FSSP after Pope John Paul II excommunicated them. God truly brought good out of the rebellion of Arch. Lefebvre. Pope John Paul II, with Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger created the FSSP for the Latin Liturgy to be once again available under the Archdioceses, though not, unfortunately, regularized.

In the end, we realize that the Church has been terribly compromised and betrayed by Christ's own Bishops and priests these past 100 years! As Christ stated the Gates of Hell shall not prevail against His Church... even if it is just a remnant of the faithful.

Gratefully and prayerfully yours in Jesus and Mary,

     E.D.M.

Media Panic over Coronavirus

TIA,

Only one US death from Corona virus, but 30,000 from regular influenza this winter? Media panic over one death, but what about all those others?

"Flu season is hitting its stride right now in the US. So far, the CDC has estimated (based on weekly influenza surveillance data) that at least 12,000 people have died from influenza between Oct. 1, 2019 through Feb. 1, 2020, and the number of deaths may be as high as 30,000. "

Two Fighting Popes

Hello TIA,

Although we know that Pope Francis and Pope Benedict are in perfect agreement on how to more efficiently destroy the Catholic Church, it is curious to see how the small rift over priestly celibacy that they seemed to have had recently gave opportunity for a funny float in the German carnival. The banner translates, "Two Popes meet each other."

Please, check the photo below.

Sermons at the Traditional Masses

Dear TIA,

Recently, I started attending a Traditional Mass, after eight years of not attending mass. Unfortunately, this past week I realized the parish priest, after giving a homily on the topic of 'Outside the Church there is no salvation' not too long ago, last week asked he parish to invoke “venerable” Fulton J. Sheen for the healing of a parishioner whose life is in danger.

I was aghast, I felt he is deceiving the parish as far as being a traditionalist. How could he not know the truth about “venerable” Bishop Sheen? I have decided not to attend mass there anymore.

What are we Catholics to do when all other masses in the area are Novus Ordus masses? The people attending mass are being deceived as to the double standard Father is advocating. I contacted him by phone a few days ago, left a message, but he has not responded.

Please, I need advice as to what you think, and what I should do going forward? Also, does Tradition in Action hold retreats?

May God bless you all, I am at awe at the work you do for Our Holy Mother Church. It is very informative, well researched and a beacon of light, in a sea of deception.

     Best regards,

     C.M.

TIA responds:

Dear C.M.,

Thank you for the confidence you show in TIA, for your prayers and kind words. They mean a lot to us.

Yes, the situation of the present day crisis in the Catholic Church is very disheartening, as you say.

We think your opinion is correct about Arch. Fulton Sheen.

However, we do not know whether you should stop attending Mass at that parish. It all depends on the other possibilities you have to fulfill your Sunday obligation. There are times we have to bear with bad opinions expressed in sermons for the sake of having the Mass.

We have friends who went to a Catholic Easter Mass and had to endure hearing the priest praise Gandhi, Martin Luther King and Mother Teresa in his sermon. They remain quiet for the sake of having a Mass to assist at. Otherwise, they would have to travel an hour to assist at another Mass that is not a Novus Ordo Mass.

So, if you have another Traditional Mass to go to – either in the Latin Rite or in some Eastern Catholic Rite – you could leave this one. However, if you do not, it is better to keep things in perspective and not jeopardize losing the Mass and the Sacraments.

Unfortunately, so far TIA does not offer retreats, nor can we make a particular recommendation for other retreats.

     Cordially,

Nuns Support Pro-Abortion Candidate

Dear TIA,

What could be more revolting that these two old prune-faced 'sisters' (they don't deserve the name) waxing eloquent about the pro-abortion candidate Marie Newman.

She is running against a pro-life incumbent.

But the pro-abortion candidate won their vote because she "listens to others'".

It makes one sick to the stomach... [Read the news report below]

Religious sisters back pro-abortion primary challenger to Lipinski

Matt Hadro

Chicago, Ill., Feb 27, 2020 (CNA)- Two Catholic religious sisters on Wednesday expressed their support for a pro-abortion primary challenger to one of the last remaining pro-life Democrats in Congress.

nuns
The campaign of Marie Newman, a Democratic candidate running in a primary against Rep. Dan Lipinski of Illinois’ third congressional district, posted a video on Twitter Wednesday featuring two religious sisters – Sisters Patricia Murphy and JoAnn Persch of the Sisters of Mercy – endorsing Newman’s bid for Congress.

In the video, Sister Patricia Murphy cited Newman’s “incredible power to listen to people” as a reason for her support.

In the video, (watch it here) Sister JoAnn Persch said that she first met Newman “in front of Congressman Lipinski’s office” and saw her again at a local “march against hate,” but had “never met Congressman Dan Lipinski personally” in her time working in the district.

“I will respond by voting for Marie Newman,” Persch said. Murphy said in the video that Newman “will make a great congresswoman and she has my vote.”

Newman is mounting her second consecutive primary challenge to Rep. Lipinski, opposing his views on life and marriage issues while boasting of her support from pro-abortion groups.
