Our Lady of Guadalupe
I just watched and listened to the piece (powerpoint) about Our Lady of Guadalupe.
I was so moved and so amazed! I never paid much attention to Our Lady under that title.
It seemed the depiction of the Blessed Mother was so foreign to me.
Now, having seen the presentation, I have a whole new appreciation of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
It is so amazing, so stunning, the daily miracles about this representation of Our Lady.
The prayer at the end was perfect, and a reminder to stop being anxious about what is happening to us all worldwide, and to once again put my trust in God, and in his Blessed Mother, and mine, who will crush his head.

Exorcism Carried out on Irish Parliament
An exorcism of the Irish government was held this week by an Italian priest, Fr. Bellini who told the people assembled, "Your priests have abandoned you. Your bishops have abandoned you."
Fr. Bellini said that priests should be with the sick and dying during the Covid-19 pandemic.

I read the article about Bishop Sheen. As a young student at Notre Dame high school I didn't take to Fr Teilhard de Chardin's theology since I was forced to learn about in Religion class. We were studying how when we die we become like little drops of water that return to the great sea of life.
I was surreptitiously reading a Mark Twain Novel in class and got caught by Brother Joe who took my novel away and punched me in the chest. To this day I am more attracted to Twain's humor that Ecclesiastical dullness.

What does TIA say about McElroy?
The Bishop of San Diego McElroy said he would not open up the churches, even if the SCOTUS or this injunction (below) allows.
Do we have any recourse? Can a “bishop” prevent our 1st Amendment right from being exercised?

In closing, this Court wholeheartedly agrees with the following sentiment:
"Members of this Court are not public health experts, and we should respect the judgment of those with special expertise and responsibility in this area. But even in a pandemic, the Constitution cannot be put away and forgotten. The restrictions at issue here, by effectively barring many from attending religious services, strike at the very heart of the First Amendment's guarantee of religious liberty. Before allowing this to occur, we have a duty to conduct a serious examination of the need for such a drastic measure." (Roman Catholic Diocese, supra, at p. 3.)
The free exercise of religion clause in the California Constitution prohibits Defendants from treating religious activities worse than comparable secular activities. California's current Covid-related restrictions do exactly that. This Court is not in a position to rewrite the restrictions or dictate to Defendants specifically how the restrictions may be cured. However, the Court is in a position to prohibit enforcement of the restrictions against Plaintiff pending trial, and rules accordingly. The Court makes no rulings at this time with respect to Plaintiff's separation of powers claim. The Court also does not make any rulings with respect to Defendants' Covid-related restrictions that were created at the city and county levels, except that those restrictions are also not enforceable against Plaintiff to the extent that they incorporate the State of California's restrictions.

The Catholic Church and the Civil State have different and independent judicial systems. The Bishop of San Diego does not rely on any civil tribunal to decide what to do. If he decides something unjust, the faithful of San Diego, in principle, can appeal this decision to the Archdiocese of Los Angeles or the Congregation of the Bishops in the Vatican.
However, in the present-day so-called pandemic, there is a fundamental inversion of these principles, since the Catholic Church voluntarily submitted herself to the civil authorities. From the Pope down to the local Bishops, all are obeying the arbitrary and abusive norms issued by civil authorities.
So, concretely speaking, even if the faithful of San Diego would appeal against their local Bishop to the Archbishop of Los Angeles or to the Vatican, most probably both organs will not be favorable to their cause, in order to side with Pope Francis' bad orientation.
