Calcutta, Merkel & Pedophilia

‘Saint’ Teresa of Calcutta

Dear TIA,

I am sending to you some principles that characterize Bergoglio’s new “saint” Teresa of Calcutta. She did not care a dime whether the person she was dealing with was Catholic, Buddhist, Muslim or from any other religion. For her every follower of a false religion is a sincere worshipper of the true God.

If I am not mistaken, this is a heresy called Religious Indifferentism. Anyway, the nun is now a “saint” of the new conciliar religion.

I found this list on the Spanish website Amor de la Verdad.

     In Jesus through Mary,

     P.M.M.

Religious Principles of Mother Teresa

  • “If in coming face to face with God we accept Him in our lives, then we are converting. We become a better Hindu, a better Muslim, a better Catholic, a better whatever we are, and then, by being better, we come closer and closer to Him…What God is in your mind you must accept.”

  • “All is God: Buddhists, Hindus, Christians, etc., all have access to the same God.”

  • “I love all religions. … If people become better Hindus, better Muslims, better Buddhists by our acts of love, then there is something else growing there.”

  • [Regarding a Hindu priest she was taking care of] “She nursed him with her own hands and helped him to die reconciled with his own gods.”

  • [Her biographer Naveen Chawla once asked her: “Do you convert people?”] She replied, “Of course I convert. I convert you to be a better Hindu or a better Muslim or a better Protestant. Once you’ve found God, it’s up to you to decide how to worship him.”

  • “We have never tried to convert our patients to Christianism. The essential is that they meet God through their religion, no matter what it is. What saves is faith in God. It does not matter from what point of view one arrives to Him.”

Merkel Defeated in Election

TIA,

In the aftermath of Chancellor Angela Merkel’s opening Germany to millions of “Syrian refugees,” she lost the regional election in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern last Sunday. The Alternative party for Germany (AfD), which is anti-immigration and anti-EU, came in second with 21% of the ballots, ahead of Merkel’s Christian Democratic Union (CDU) with 19%. The Social Democratic Party (SDP) had 30% but also lost 5% to the AfD, compared to the last similar election in the area.

This was the first of six important regional elections before the German federal election in 2017. The next will be on September 11 in Lower Saxony and within two weeks in the region of Berlin for the renewal of the Parliament.

Good news…

     R.B.

Psychiatrist: ‘Sue Paglia for Pornography’

TIA,

Please, read this news report on a psychiatrist who protests against the new sex-ed program issued by the Vatican under the responsibility of Archbishop Vicenzo Paglia. He suggests Paglia to be judged for pornography according to the rules of American Bishops.

It will never happen. It is, however, interesting to see the healthy reaction.

Pedophilia & Cover-ups Existed Before Vatican II

Dear TIA,

A fine article by Mr. Atila, and sad but not surprising revelations about Archbishop Nienstedt. I do take issue a bit with this comment, however:

“When we analyze the pedophilia crisis that has rocked the Catholic Church for more than a decade, we see that at its root is the failure of the Church authorities to administer justice to her own members. Nonetheless, the Church has all the necessary means to judge and punish her guilty members, and she had done so very well until Vatican II.”

Read the book Sacrilege, by Leon Podles. The Church had been hiding abusers long before Vatican II. Three monster priests ordained in Boston in or around 1960, Frs. Shanley, Geoghan, and Birmingham, were all known to be abusers before the Second Vatican Council had concluded. Podles, in his website, details the use and abuse of a couple of young women of around 20-years-old by the later Archbishop John Spalding of Peoria, around the turn of the 20th century. Rome knew but did nothing except deny Spalding the archbishopric of Chicago. The pre-Conciliar Church was corrupt, as well. And I am sure you are familiar with the tome by Randy Engel, Rite of Sodomy.

Now, we are very much in agreement that after and because of Vatican II, the number of abusive priests increased greatly, and because of that the inactivity of bishops in rooting out bad priests and punishing them is much more noticeable. Very sad to say, but as a general rule I am suspicious of all older priests, men who were ordained from the 60's to perhaps the late 90s. Not fair perhaps, but if any of them turned out to be homosexuals (not necessarily abusers), I would not be surprised. (I do think that better men are being ordained in the last 20 years.)

     Keep up your excellent website,

The Editor responds:

Dear Mr. O’Brien,

Thank you for your message and agreement on several points.

Regarding Vatican II being a landmark for the crisis of pedophilia in the clergy, I want to clarify that in that column I was speaking in broad general terms.

If I say, for example, it never rains in South California – where I live – the “never” has to be taken as a general rule. In fact, sometimes it rains here and it causes serious floods. That is why there are many precautions to prevent flood damage from occurring.

So, when I said the Church before Vatican II had controlled pedophilia very well, I was also speaking in general terms.

In more specific terms: Yes, there were cases of pedophilia and cover-ups by Bishops before Vatican Council II (1962-1965) ended. I divide them into two types:
  1. Some cases, like the ones you quoted, happened because the moral novelties of the Council were being tested even before it was convened and were already being enforced in many places. Clergy and religious orders had been formed for decades in the lax morality that preceded the Council and made it possible.

The series on the Dialogue Mass by Dr. Carol Byrne shows how far back the preparation for the New Mass started, which reached its final form only in 1969, based on Vatican II. An analogous process applies to the moral reforms: Catholic Morals was being corroded for a long time. Perhaps in the future TIA may ask one of its writers to study and post a series on the flood of moral changes Progressivism released to prepare the clergy and religious orders for the deluge of immorality we have witnessed after the Council.
  2. Others cases occurred because, wherever there is original sin, they pop up here and there.

In Church history, at times sexual aberrations like pedophilia and homosexuality flood an epoch, such as the time that preceded the papacy of St. Gregory VII when pedophilia and homosexuality were frequently found among clergymen and religious men. This is one of the reasons why he made the Gregorian Reforms; this is why St. Peter Damian wrote his famous Liber Gomorrhianus.

Another period when these vices flooded the clergy was the Renaissance, which took up the models of Greece and Rome.

In both periods corrupted Bishops covered-up for degenerate priests.
I hope this explains sufficiently why in that article I spoke in general terms and what I believe the specific reality is regarding this topic.

Hopefully, you do not take issue with this explanation. If you do, please, do not hesitate to send your next objections so that we may continue the debate.

     Cordially,

     Atila S. Guimarães
