Shocked by the New Church

People Commmenting
TIA,

I have read many of your articles over the last year or so and also other sites of tradition.

About two years ago I began attending a Tridentine Latin Mass after many years of going to the Novus Ordo Mass, praying that it would destroy itself. Instead, it got steadily more decadent and perverse.

At one homily our priest apologized for the term Sonship of Christ, which was to appease the gender-neuterists and feminists. Another time, at a daily mass our priest stepped back and let the women give the Eucharist. If I had heard the term Humankind one more time, I was going to scream.

Then there were the terrible explanations for receiving Communion in the hand and also standing to receive Communion. They told everyone that is what the early Church did, but failed to tell them that the practice was also condemned because of the abuses. And as I have read, it was re-introduced at the time of the Arian heresy. I believe that is right. As for standing and receiving Communion, it was explained that this is what we do in America when we meet someone - it is a custom. I've saved these papers the Diocese put out. There are many other things I could mention - some I remember and some I don't.

So one Sunday I was praying the rosary before Mass and trying to tune out all the noise around me. I looked up at the altar and all these women were milling around there, and it felt like someone just grabbed me by the collar of my shirt and said, "leave." And I did.

So, I attend a Tridentine Latin Mass about 60 miles one way from my house. No more altar girls, we kneel to receive the Body and Blood of my Lord, and it is dead silent - how wonderful that is. There are long lines for Confession before and after Mass. We say a rosary before every Mass. There is a high Mass and a Low Mass. The list goes on. It is the Mass I grew up with.

So God bless your website and thanks.

     Sincerely,

     S.K.

The Root of Today's Mess
People Commmenting
TIA,

I'm still trying to figure out the need for changes in the Catholic Church that occurred as the result of Vatican II in 1962.

I'm of the mindset that if it ain't broken, don't fix it. Prior to Vatican II, the Church was doing just fine. Since then, all hell has been breaking loose. Satan has been running amok, as the changes are playing right into his hand.

Oh, where do I start? The most glaring thing today is the fact that there is no need now for conversions, as all religions are now the same. What Our Lord Jesus said in John (14:6): "I am the Way and the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the God Father except by me," apparently is no longer valid.

Vatican II has been cited by Catholics as the reason why they can be personally opposed to the killing of unborn children and still hold the view that a woman should still have the right to have an abortion. John Kerry cited Vatican II as proof for this on National TV during his quest for the presidency. I have even heard priests invoke Vatican II when they condone pro-abortion Catholic politicians.

Seminaries have been emptying steadily to the point that there is a severe shortage of priests. The same for nuns. Before Vatican II, there was no problem. Most seminarians had true vocations and did not enter for ungodly reasons.

Now, when you look at a priest, you wonder if he is homosexual, because many good and godly seminarians left as gays were accepted and eventually became dominant. This is what happens when a religion becomes liberal, which was the result of Vatican II.

In one Catholic Church I visited, the music was so loud and unintelligible that it's a wonder people could concentrate on their prayers. All kinds of music and instruments are now accepted.

There are many more bad results of Vatican II, but time does not permit listing them, except to say that Catholics have left the pews in droves, as they feel that the Catholic Church has failed them.

They see that the Bishops ignore Canon Law and do not excommunicate those who dissent from Catholic doctrine - such as Catholics in power, e.g. Ted Kennedy, John Kerry, and 11 other pro-abortion Catholic senators and three Catholic governors who bend over backwards to make sure Roe vs. Wade will never be overturned. So also the senators and about 65 pro-abortion Catholics in the House of Representatives. Most all are in the Democratic party - the "Party of Death."

Most Bishops even allow these heretics to receive the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ knowing full well them have mortal sins on their souls for their support of the killing of little children.

Many Catholics are now of the mind that there is no such thing as the desecration of the Eucharist. Confession and true repentance are no longer required, at least not for the rich and the powerful.
