Pilgrimage - 2026
Invitation to TIA's Pilgrimage to
Our Lady of Bethlehem
Our Lady of Bethlehem, waiting to give her graces & goodness
Traditional Mass in San Carlos Borromeo Basilica, below, Our Lady's side chapel

Like the two previous ones, this Pilgrimage will consist of a short sung procession to the Mission Basilica San Carlos Borromeo, the Traditional Mass and a musical serenade to Our Lady of Bethlehem Statue. Next, a lunch and short talks on the history and significance of Our Lady of Bethlehem will take place at Crespi Hall, on the Mission grounds.
The next morning, there will be a Rosary walk on the white sands of Carmel Beach that will end at a hill where the Portolá-Crespi Cross rises over the horizon to commemorate a miracle converting many natives, as reported here.
We hope you and your friends can join TIA’s 2026 Pilgrimage.
Our Lady of Bethlehem’s Significance
The devotion to Our Lady of Bethlehem is not a new one. This invocation hails from the times of the early Christians, and was popularized especially in Spain and Portugal in the 1400s during the Age of Discovery.
Our Lady of Bethlehem was the Patroness of the voyages to the Western Indies (the Three Americas) and East Indies (today’s India, China and Indo-China Peninsula). Prince Henry the Navigator, the driving force behind the Portuguese explorations of the 1400s, once said, “Just as the star of Bethlehem guided the Magi to the Manger where the Child God lay, so too will Our Lady of Bethlehem help to find new lands and the route to India.”
In our times, when the Church and the entire world are engulfed by the storm of the Revolution, Our Lady appears again as the Star that helps us find the correct route to build a new Catholic Civilization and to save our souls.
Reserve your place soon.
All expenses – hotels, transportation and meals – are at the discretion of the pilgrims. TIA asks pilgrims for a $25 donation for securing the Basilica and Hall, organization and pilgrimage expenses and the maintenance of the Mission. More details and the full program will be forthcoming closer to the pilgrimage date.
