Tumbler, Farms & Garbage Data on Virus

Holy Week Page

Dear TIA,

Thank you for publishing my poor email, (on my reaction on the Coronavirus mania) though I know you could have written something much more superior. I hope it is pleasing to God.

Thank you also for having the ceremonies of Holy Week on your site. They are more helpful now than ever.

     In Maria,

     J.K.

The Tumbler of Our Lady

TIA,

Hi,

Is this a true story?

Regards.

Dr. Horvat responds:

Hello B.B.,

This Miracle Tale of Our Lady called Our Lady’s Tumbler has been the subject of much scholarly research and debate.

The legend is old, very old, dating from the 13th century, and is believed to originate in a Cistercian monastery, perhaps even that of St. Bernard. The white monks were remarkably prolific in the exemplary genre, but nowhere more than at Clairvaux.

In total, five codices of the 13th and 14th centuries preserve the verse work Our Lady’s Tumbler. The original, at least as it has been handed down to us, is recorded in a form of French spoken and written in Picardy, a territory in the northern part of France. It could be termed Franco-Picard. Of the five medieval manuscripts, the earliest witness for Our Lady’s Tumbler survives from the second half of the 13th century.

The legend it tells resembles a specific type of medieval literature known as an exemplum, as the preamble to the poem declares it be. Its purpose was to glorify Our Lady and her goodness, as well as to debase pride and exalt humility.

Even modern scholars do not dare to affirm definitively that Our Lady’s Tumbler is not based on a true miracle. For the medieval Cistercians who wrote and preached the story, they were recording and recounting momentous miracles witnessed by members of their community; they were not just telling tales to amuse or edify the listeners. And to those listeners the story was a history, a real miracle worked by Our Lady for the edification and faith of many. It was certainly intended to be heard and understood as a record of reality - a moment in History.

Then, the Protestant Reformation, the Enlightenment and Positivism entered into History, and the preachers as well as listeners lost the medieval spirit of simple faith and confidence in God. We have degenerated into a skeptical cynical populace who consider the Miracles or Our Lady and the Saints as nothing more than a kind of superhero fiction.

There is no definitive source I can cite that can assure you this miracle truly happened, but I, like the medieval preachers and the people, believe that it did. I hope you will also.

     Cordially,

     Marian T. Horvat, Ph.D.

Farm Production Shutdown

TIA,

Per this farm coop man's report, our national food supply is being purposefully destroyed.

What's behind the economic shutdown

Crops rotting in fields. Dairy farmers incentivized to quit for good. Beef/pork processors shutting down. All by design.

Spread the word and make sure everyone starts growing food, no matter how small scale -- every bit helps.

Panic Based on Bureaucratic Studies, Not Reality

Dear TIA,

I was surprised to know that the White House is not telling the nation about the number of Covid-19 victims based upon objective data taken from reality, but from model curves made by experts in statistics. This means that a man, sitting on his chair in his office projects a curve about what he imagines will be the number of victims.

So, when Mr. Fauci followed one model, he ran to the TV and told us that Americans will have “millions of deaths.”

Some time after, he followed another model and told us that we will have 220k deaths;

More recently, he changed again his model and told us that we will have 65K deaths…

How can a man who pretends to be taken seriously change his projections this much?

And why should our governments, if they also want to be taken seriously, follow these office bureaucrats instead of collecting the data straight from reality?

I present you below an article that shows that the White House is following an incorrect model, which projects to the whole country the data of New York, the most infected state of the country. Reality is far less dramatic than this model indicates.

So, we have two fraudulent magnifying lenses that are being used to produce panic:
  1. The authorities are greatly exaggerating the danger of Covid-19 because if the data about the victims reported were real, the number would be less than – or at the most equal to – the number of victims of the seasonable flu or other common causes of death in the US;

  2. However, the real data regarding Covid-19 victims reveal far less than what is being reported.
Thus, the one and only thing that seems indisputable is that governments and the media want to instill panic into their populations.

Who is behind this dishonest propaganda?

What are the fruits of this nonsensical lockdown if not to break our economy, our system (capitalism) and our way of living?

Who benefits from this if not Communism?

     In Christ Jesus,

     E.J.

Analyst Discovers a Major Flaw in IHME Model Used by White House;
Actual Numbers Are a Fraction of Expected

Elizabeth Vaughn

April 2, 2020 – Sean Davis, co-founder of The Federalist, took a serious look at the IHME (Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation) Coronavirus model and called it “garbage.” Davis makes his case through a series of tweets (below).

Davis found that the actual numbers of hospitalizations on April 1 were a fraction of the numbers projected by the IHME model. The problem with the model, he discovered, is that it uses New York and New Jersey data and applies it to the rest of the states.

The actual numbers range from a low of 9% in Tennessee of the projection to a high of 50% in Virginia. Here are some examples:

The model projected that over 121,000 people would be hospitalized in the country yesterday. The actual number was 31,142. (25.7%)

Texas: Projection – 1,716; Actual – 196 (11.4%)

Georgia: Projection – 2,777; Actual – 952 (34.3%)

Virginia: Projection – 607; Actual – 305 (50%)

Tennessee: Projection – 2,214; Actual number – 200 (9%)

New York: Projection – 50,962; Actual number – 18,368 (36%)

Davis writes that if we’re going to shut down the entire nation’s economy to “flatten the curve” based on the projections of a single model, it shouldn’t be too much to ask that the model approximate reality when it comes to hospitalizations.
