Re: Anglican Women 'Bishops': The Consequences
I sometimes wonder which words of Leo XIII were confusing to Paul VI, John Paul II, Benedict XVI and Francis I.
Pope Leo XIII, Apostolicae curae - 1896)

Wherefore, strictly adhering, in this matter, to the decrees of the pontiffs, our predecessors, and confirming them most fully, and, as it were, renewing them by our authority, of our own initiative and certain knowledge, we pronounce and declare that ordinations carried out according to the Anglican rite have been, and are, absolutely null and utterly void. ...

We decree that these letters and all things contained therein shall not be liable at any time to be impugned or objected to by reason of fault or any other defect whatsoever of subreption or obreption of our intention, but are and shall be always valid and in force and shall be inviolably observed both juridically and otherwise, by all of whatsoever degree and preeminence, declaring null and void anything which, in these matters, may happen to be contrariwise attempted, whether wittingly or unwittingly, by any person whatsoever, by whatsoever authority or pretext, all things to the contrary notwithstanding.

Institute of Christ the King
Hello,
My name is D.M. and I often do a bit of research on your web site for whatever projects I have going at the time. I am someone who likes to keep up with the current issues of the Catholic Church and was wondering if you could be some help. I find that some of the articles printed on the site are accurate and others on the eccentric side, but anyhow I am looking for an Article pertaining to the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest.
I don't believe that this group of a so-called traditional order of priests is all so great as what people say they are. I can't seem to find an article on your site or anywhere else on the internet that includes all the details that I am looking for. I am trying to find out what this Latin mass group of priests is truthfully about.
Please e-mail me with any suggestions for my research.
Thank you much.
D.M.
TIA responds:
Hello D.M.,
Actually we have not commented on the Institute Christ the King very often on our website. The few references we have are in passing - listing it along with other conservative religious organizations that had compromised the purity of their adhesion to the Catholic Faith in order to accommodate the post-Vatican II Church.
Cordially,

Private Photos of Compostela
TIA,
Thank you for the photos of the Spanish Cathedral profanation. Are these photos private or can they be accessed from a stock archive?
Do you send out email updates? If so, please inform me how to get them.
Appreciate your work.
W.N.
TIA responds:
W.N.,
We do not have e-mail updates. To access our website, which is updated daily, you may place it in your Favorites and visit us regularly.
Those photos belong to El Correo Gallego, as stamped on each photo and acknowledged in the credit we gave it - at the bottom, under the last photo. They can be used, as is the habit on the Internet, for cultural and religious non-profit purposes as long as credit is given to the owner.

Europeans & Jews
Hello!
Thank you for your wonderful and helpful Catholic web site.
Can you please comment on the idea that the Israelites of the Bible are in fact the Europeans, and that the Jews of today are not the Israelites at all?
Web sites such as christogenea.org, www.anglo-saxonisrael.com and others (which you may not want to actually link to) argue that much evidence from linguistics, literary analysis, population movements, and prophetical aspects of the Old Testament suggests that the tribes were not 'lost' at all, but in fact went up into what we today call Europe (and in various other waves went to other regions of the world and were to a great extent lost to interbreeding).
This theory, called Christian Identity, holds that only the Europeans/Israelites are descended from Adam, with opinions varying about the origins of other races of men.
Some of the research they have done is rather extensive and may require a careful rebuttal. I would read with interest your opinions about the subject.
Truly, In Christ,
C.R.

Hello C.R.,
Thank you for your message and appreciation for our work.
We do not have a special study or any input on the analogy between Jews and Europeans as you described.

Virtuous Marital Continence
Good Morning,
We are a traditional Catholic family in Australia, and I have a question about "Virtuous Continence." I wanted to know: Do you know if it is lawful to abstain completely for a period of months from any marital relations.
We do not practice NFP at all but between children we do abstain for periods without marital relationships with full consent from both of us to abstain to space out our children so my wife can recover from the previous births, we generally have a season of 3 months were there is no marital relations.
Do you think this falls under Virtuous Continence and is lawful under Catholic law?
Thank you kindly
J.H., Australia
TIA responds:
J.H.,
Thank you for the confidence in us you reveal by sending us your question.
In your description you do not mention whether both you and your wife abstain from marital relations in order to improve the virtue of chastity, or to increase your union with Our Lord and Our Lady, or to thus assist the Catholic cause by your prayers. If you do so for these reasons, it would be part of virtuous continence.
As you describe it, the abstinence you practice is a prudential measure in order to keep your wife in good health. It is a perfectly legitimate reason that is praiseworthy in a world that is drowning in sensuality and immorality, but per se is not an act of supernatural virtue. In order to be such an act of virtue, the ideal of chastity and the concern “for the things that belong to the Lord: how you may please God” (1 Cor 7:32) should be the first and foremost aim of your abstinence.
Thus, continue to do what you do, following the orientation of St. Paul (1 Cor 7:5), but try to raise your eyes and practice abstinence for higher reasons. Then, your meritorious discipline will become an act of supernatural virtue.
