Aztec dances at St. Vibiana Chapel, L.A.

On this page you see photos of a leg & belly show under the pretext of performing Aztec Dances. It took place at the Cathedral Chapel of St. Vibiana, downtown Los Angeles, on December 12, 2009, the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, and was executed by the Flor de Mayo Aztec Ballet Folklorico.

We are not discussing whether a folkloric presentation of this type is appropriate in itself. Our point is that it is gravely unfitting for such a show to take place in a Catholic Church before the Altar, with the Blessed Sacrament present in the Tabernacle. It is a profanation that Catholics should reject and make reparation for.

The great Forgotten One in all the Inculturation initiatives of the post-conciliar Church is Our Lord Jesus Christ. It is so concerned about promoting the "cult of man"that it disregards the One to whom all the worship and solemnity  must be turned.

You may watched the whole performance here.
