Cardinal Joachim Meisner

A clownish sermon by Cologne's Cardinal
Cardinal Joachim Meisner, Archbishop of the historical see of Cologne, is known for being familiar with the carnival atmosphere. We have seen him sporting carnival attire and dancing at carnival festivities. In his January 3, 2011 sermon he introduced a puppet clown to make his audience laugh with him.

We believe he is accomplishing an agenda to break down the seriousness and sacrality of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, making it more suitable to the Protestant religious services, which have an air of festivity. He is putting into practice what some progressivists call the "theology of the laugh."
