Our Sunday Visitor, April 17, 2005
During his visit to Phoenix in 1987, John Paul II received a ritual "blessing" from an Indian shaman using an eagle's feather.
The "blessing" was given by Pima shaman Emmet White.
After the pagan ritual, JPII said that the act had "enriched the Church."
