Lyle James Arnold, Jr.

Lyle Arnold died on November, 30, 2014 of natural causes in his home in Pleasant Hill. Lyle was the spouse of Martha Arnold (née Lucy), 1941-2007, and is survived by his sister Judy Kelly and by his eleven children: Theresa, Veronica, Daniel, Nicholas, Vincent, Jennifer, Mary, Bernadette, Lyle, Bernard, and Charles.

A former U.S. Marine and California Highway Patrol officer, he was also an avid writer who self-published two books, The Protection Formula: Thinking Like a Cop, and Radical Catholic, as well as countless essays for Tradition in Action, a Catholic organization of which he was second vice-president and a dedicated member.

His magnanimous spirit and unique sense of humor will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. A rosary and traditional Latin Mass will be held at St. Margaret Mary's, 1219 Excelsior Ave., Oakland, on December 9 at 10:30 AM, followed by burial at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 1965 Reliez Valley Rd., Lafayette, CA 94549.
