The Army Goes Rolling Along is a patriotic American song proclaiming the pride and honor of the United States Army. Here the singers, soldiers in the ranks of the Army, give voice to their noble pride and fierce valor; the first to fight, enduring until the battle is won.
The Army Goes Rolling Along was originally written for the field artillery by First Lieutenant Edmund L. Gruber in 1908. It was adopted as the official song of the US Army in 1952.
It is sung here by the United States Army Band, also known as "Pershing's Own."
Listen to The Army Goes Rolling Along
Lyrics:
March along, sing our song, with the Army of the free,
Count the brave, count the true, who have fought to victory.
We're the Army and proud of our name.
We're the Army and proudly proclaim.
First to fight for the right,
And to build the Nation’s might,
And the Army goes rolling along
Proud of all we have done,
Fighting till the battle’s won,
And the Army goes rolling along.
Then it's hi! Hi! Hey!
The Army's on its way.
Count off the cadence loud and strong.
For where e’er we go,
You will always know,
That the Army goes rolling along.
